Hey everyone I'm off to Glastonbury this year and would like to cook my own breakfast each morning due to allergies and costs. I don't want to carry anything too heavy as the walk from the station to the site is about 1.5 miles.

I already have a compact 1 ring burner; I was hoping there would be some sort of tiered cooking pans but can't find anything?

I also wanted to avoid taking plates so anything you can cook on and eat off would be ideal.

In my head I have a vision of bamboo steamer style mess tins?!

This pan set is great, and it all stacks inside each other to form a compact pack
here
And you can use the flat frying pans as plates too.

you need a triangia

OhYouBadBadKitten · 30/04/2010 20:07

we do couscous and tinned meat balls its pouring with rain and we are stuck. boil water. sdd to couscous and cover. heat up tinned meatballs.
very stylish

Mess tins are the way to go. You can sit one on top of the other for keeping-warm.

You can eat out of anything let's face it!

thanks everyone, not sure I explained myself properly. I just want to take the one pan that we can eat straight from and all we will cook is breakfast. As we need to cook beans I was thinking the pan would need to be tiered
or have sections.

I think we have a solution, take frying pan, cooks eggs and beans inside an egg ring? Eat from pan. I think that should work?

Would mess tins work, cooking meat and eggs in one and beans in another ontop of the first with a foil lid?

I can do an entire fry up in one pan. I just can

CheeeseOnToast · 02/05/2010 14:25

Have porridge for breakfast instead

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/05/2010 21:33

I should have read your op properly. can see why you woundt want couscous and tinned meatballs for breakfast!

navyeyelasH · 03/05/2010 00:51

oh youbadkitten, not only that but I also can't eat wheat and gluten!

nagoo, how can you perform such a miracle - tell me!! I'm worried abut my beans getting greasy and my eggs not having any room!

These are popular for camp cooking if you can get hold of them.

double pan

or
triple frypan

or cheaper

or for your existing pans
lakeland

hope this helps

overmydeadbody · 04/05/2010 18:28

You just need one saucepan or mess tin, and you can then heat up the beans and cook the egg in it all together, plus anything else you want to add like muchrooms and tomatoes.

Seriously, just put everything in the pan, make a space for the egg, crack the egg in, put lid on and cook over low heat until cooked.

Or forget beans and just do omelette, with eggs, mushrooms and bacon

overmydeadbody · 04/05/2010 18:29

tiered cooking will not work, the heat is just not strong enough

navyeyelasH · 05/05/2010 21:01

dobby2001 - thanks for the links that's exactly what I was thinking.

Overmydeadbosy, the means tins sounds great but aren't they tiny? I'll be cooking 2 sausages, 6 bacon, 4 eggs, beans/toms and maybe mushrooms.
