Camping with 6mo- what can she sleep on/in? No room for travel cot!

When I took DS at 11mo, he went straight into a ready bed but think 6mo is going to be too young. I was interested in a self inflatable mat but think she will need more layers for warmth- maybe a sheepskin? Anyone got nay ideas? Don't want to spend loads as next year I am hoping she can use the ready bed. TIA

Bumping and watching with interest

cot mattress?
I think when I took ds1 when he was 6 months I co-slept with him on a double airbed, will probably do the same with ds2 this year.
otherwise I would just use one of our self-inflating mats, maybe build a barrage of rucksacks round it so he can't roll off.

DS was 9-10mths when we first took him and was on air-mattress next to me as I was still bfing him. We took lots of blankets, fluffy sleepsuit to put on over jamas etc and layered him up as appropriate. Slept better than at home

Hi, I'm watching this thread with interest as we are camping with our 7m old for the frst time in 2 weeks. We bought a self inflating mattress and a Vango Nitestar baby sleeping bag. The plan was to throw a duvet over the mattress then stick DD in fleecy PJs in to the sleeping bag (with a rolled up blanket in the bottom to stop her sliding down into it although she is quite long so not too bad a fit) and have her on top of the duvet. We are also taking a couple of blankets so we have some options. Does that sound sensible??

I used something similair to this with dd2

We took DS camping when he was very young. Two pairs of pyjamas and a snowsuit, then he slept on the floor between mummy and daddy with no problems.

It did require one of us to lie down with him at 7pm until he fell asleep, but that wasn't the end of the world.

As feetheart said, he slept better than at home! I think it was the novelty of being allowed to sleep next to us instead of in a cot!

do you not even have room for a little life arc2? we have one of these, they pack pretty small, don't weigh much and are only about 60cm high. we also use a thermarest rather than the mattress that came with it.

you could just use a thermarest, as has already been suggested. these are so warm to sleep on - DP and I once had to share a sleeping bag when he put his sleeping bag in the loft rather than the car , but both had a thermarest and were lovely and warm. SIL had her own sleeping bag but no thermarest and was freezing.

Is she too big for pop up cot? There's usually a few on ebay?
