Glamping Accessories

For the benefit of slubber really, but today I accidentally got lost on the way to mum's house and ended up at the Emma Bridgewater discount factory shop.

I now have more delicious glamping accessories: lovely plastic tumblers with spots, hearts, union jacks; a huge union jack mug for morning tea (this will match my union bunting); stacking cake tins for hearty walk-sustaining fruit cake and a tea towel. Other items may have made it into the shopping bags too, but I think I can smuggle them onto the dresser before dh spots them.

Lucy, you and your dh are obviously not averse to a spot of driving then. I'm afraid dh has drawn a mental cicle (3hrs driving max) for where he is happy to go to without becoming extremely grumpy with me and the dds, hence endless returns to N wales

We do have a 6 week sabatical planned in 2012 so I've earmarked your French site as a deffo for then.

LadyB LOL OMG you should see my boot atm. I have been driving 4 potties around in the boot for the past 3 weeks. they are taking the scenic route to the local shelter

Clari (lol just typed peachy then) om nom to your marianated salmon stakes - for cooking on the cobb I presume?

AN OUTWELL TEPEE EH?
you kept that one very quiet.

Slubberdegullion · 12/04/2010 18:56

steaks.

marianated stakes sounds a bit deliah vampire slayer

Lucycat · 12/04/2010 18:59

Dorset is 4 1/2 hrs tops including wee stops (for dh not the dds) I bribe him with the promise of a cup of tea and a cake when we get there - a man of simple pleasures together with the guaratee that we don't have to listen to Malory Towers aaalll the way there. In fact we have just invested in Harry Potter for the Whit journey.

look look look

Clarissimo · 12/04/2010 18:59

Ah no teepee yet- but it will come (unless car dies or soemthing)

Yes to cobb though we griddled them on old thing as well. Easily done.

Lucycat · 12/04/2010 19:01

lol at your stakes slubber - welsh vampires at that!

or is that fampir?

Slubberdegullion · 12/04/2010 19:04

rofl at the route planner.

No I fear that it is going to take something SIGNIFICANT (ie 2 weeks of constant miserable welsh rain and howling gales) to make him uproot from N wales. He did stretch to the Lakes last year though

the Lleyn has yet to fail us though....

Why the teepee Clari? (if I may ask)

Clarissimo · 12/04/2010 19:09

Dh just likes the teepee- easy to pop up I think, and tehre's not much else about tbh (other than my adored huge amazon but hey, tehre can always be TOO big LOL)

DH doesn't go far either, about 3 hours.

PMSL at fmpir- we ahve an art alley here called the fffrwwwmmm

Slubberdegullion · 12/04/2010 19:27

Is the amazon much bigger than the sunvalley then?

It sounds bigger

Clarissimo · 12/04/2010 19:28

Yup and it has a pod on teh side if you get the one I like, so ahs a nightmarish foorprint

Lovely porch though, lots of bunting and tealight sapce

Lucycat · 12/04/2010 19:30

Well the Amazon is the longest river in the world - the Nile has been downgraded and the sunvalley is... well... a valley that gets sun.
So yes tis bigger

Clarissimo · 12/04/2010 19:33

LOL Luce

How do you downgrade a river? Is it now a brook?

see, ffwrm odd

Lucycat · 12/04/2010 19:37

The Nile used to be the longest but they have now discovered that the Amazon actually starts inside the Andes so it is longer! see the geography teacher in me knows all sorts of crap stuff!

dawntigga · 12/04/2010 19:42

I heart this thread.

Lucycat · 12/04/2010 19:50

Ffwrwm -yes tis very odd - how in blazes do you get 'Welsh for seat' out of that! ok I get the forum bit but vowels people please!

Slubberdegullion · 12/04/2010 19:57

lolol at the geography teacher and her river facts. I thought the amazon also referred the the entire (delta? ) region which would fit in very nicely with sideways pods and a nightmare of a massive footprint.

tigga, you need to do a spot of camp kit sabotage if you really feel the need to glamporise yourself. Why any one would though tis a mystery.

Lucycat · 12/04/2010 20:01

tigga - you culd sneak some of the beauties in couldn't you?just a small chain arranged around a wine bottle?

dawntigga · 12/04/2010 20:04

We had this idea once of going to a bike rally and hiring a butler - doing it in full evening dress type thing - but we never got around to it

That link didn't work for me

MisSalLaneous · 12/04/2010 20:05

I just googled "luxury outdoor accessories", and see what's link number 3: "Stainless steel shaped as dildos to give pleasure." I didn't click on the link, mind you!

MisSalLaneous · 12/04/2010 20:06

I want to drool over a site with glamping stuffs, but might stick to the ones I know of now...

Clarissimo · 12/04/2010 20:09

pmsl Sal [frin]

erm at least if its stainless steel its easy to keep clean

helyg · 12/04/2010 20:09

Slubber: we camped here last year when the Steddfod was in Bala. The campsite was really nice and we had a pitch right by the lake which meant we woke up to lovely views, but also got bitten to death by midges and the mist was so thick in the morning that everything was damp. But it was beautiful and the facilities are pretty good.

Slubberdegullion · 12/04/2010 20:12

No good will come of looking at glamping accessories. Like there is fundamental glamping kit to start off with anyway.

it's ALL silly adornments.
[folds arms]

Your tents will all blow over and you'll be sat there on your soggy down filled mats with fairy lights in your hair and your moroccan slippers on feeling VERY sorry for yourselves.

MisSalLaneous · 12/04/2010 20:12

Ah, but Clari (I'll try my best to call you this from now! ), I keep thinking what if there's a snag bit or something...

Slubberdegullion · 12/04/2010 20:13

That looks lovely hely. Have bookmarked it.

midges eh? that's a bummer.

MisSalLaneous · 12/04/2010 20:14

Ooh, just remembered, I bought fairy lights this weekend. They were half price at Tesco. I used 2-year old ds as an excuse, but really wanted it for myself. Now only if the sun would shine properly I can charge it!
