Camping when pregnant... with a toddler... and possibly by myself?

Love camping and only managed to go for a night last year. Planned to do more this year, and have chosen new family friendly tent. But now if I do will be pregnant (at least 5 months) and possibly alone (OH quite hohum about camping in general, and particularly this year, thinks I'm crackers to consider it). But I don't want to leave it another 2 years poss before I go again! I'd imagined it would be me and dc (2) alone anyway. Is this madness to even consider? What's the latest any of you have camped up until and anything else I should take/ buy to be more comfy? Do I need to be with someone else? I was figuring to go at short notice, if weather lovely etc.. mid week June/July (6 months then), and plan on one night poss two stop, and up to hour from home so worse case scenario can get home. Any tips??!

I camped a full week at 30-31 weeks. Was fun but I didnt have a toddler in tow and I was with a friend but she was useless at putting tent up so I did that myself. I was fine, but got very hot in the tent very quickly (it was august) as I tend to overheat badly when preggers. I also found it fairly difficult to get up from laying on the airbed, but at 5 months, you prob. wont be that huge so shouldnt be a problem. Seriously think about how you will manage to set up camp on your own with a toddler running around, possibly in the rain/wind and while pregnant. depending on your tent, the weather and how easily entertained your toddler is, I certainly dont think you are mad for considering it!

Hmmm faddle, haven't actually put tent up yet so will have a go at home to work out the hard bits and see how do-able alone it is! Rain I'm not too worried about, dc loves wellies and all in one rain suit so will happily charge around in that while I struggle, just as long as the flippin' thing is put-up-able alone, pregnant belly or not I guess!

A few years ago I went camping with my best friend who was 6M pregnant and her DD who was not quite 2YRs. I'm not sure she would have managed by herself as we struggled to put the tent up on a very windy day between the two of us while her DD was asleep in the car. We had great fun but after a few days (we were camping for a week) she became really uncomfortable sleeping on the airbed. As you're only going to be going for a day or two you should be Ok. I don't want to put you off but if I were you I would try and find a friend to go with to help you out.
