ahhh... just came across this website and must share it! The annoyance potential is enormous (DP is hardcore camper I love a good gadget and bit of comfort in tent). So many things, camping slankets, wedge wellies (?!?!!) shelters, dayglolo frisbees, strange windbreaks... and a whole section on windsocks & poles ?!

glitterkitty, that's a fantastic site! I was browsing for something similar, but the closest I could get was some lanterns on Firebox!

glitterkitty · 19/03/2010 10:25

Glad someone else appreciated it! I'm going to make a list of stuff i must must have right now while boss in meeting at lunchtime and buy on payday

Particularly interested in coffee making equipment- hate instant!

site is fab am dying to get a windsock or two before they are banned like bunting etc etc by v practical dh
re coffee we take cafeitere (spelling gone to pot..) is only thing big enough for coffee requirements, tried espresso makers/individual filters etc but is the easiest/largest !
store real coffee in a tin and the very very first thing in the morning the kettle goes on -we leave it filled up night before

glitterkitty · 20/03/2010 20:33

Ah, 3rd thats interesting, was thinking that might be the way to go. But coffee in a tin means buying a tin. or buying illy (bloody v expensive.)

Tried those filter bags- like tea bags- and they were Not Really Like Proper Coffee.

Do you use a real kettle? We have just got EHU and not sure if kettle would overload it? (aplogies for stupid person question )

Otherwise I have to wait for DP to get up and do do gas thing as I have a paranoid fear of it.

I now want a windsock.

glitterkitty, you have made my night - I am easily pleased - I love camping gadgets!!! Off to spend far too much money!

Lotkinsgonecurly · 20/03/2010 21:51

Am loving the solar shower and the kids trailer. I'm a camper under sufferance as DH loves it and would go hardcore camping all year round. However, I'm at best a fairweather camper. Unfortunatley as with most kids mine adore it!!! Anything to make my life slightly cosier is most welcome.

glitterkitty · 20/03/2010 21:58

Cosier is the way to go! I have bought a luxurious king sized self inflating mattress so far this year. So when DS turns up at 3am we will have comfort! It was nearly £70 I was horrified hope its worth it!

We take Cafetiere's and leave the coffee in the fil bags, sealed with a clip-it thingy and in a plastic bag. We boil kettles at night and fill up large thermos flasks so can use them, or re-boil that water really quickly.

Honeymoonmummy · 20/03/2010 22:45

Great site! I too have bought a blow up luxury full size double bed Can't wait to go camping!!!

overmydeadbody · 20/03/2010 22:49

oh the horror, my eyes, my eyyyyes

overmydeadbody · 20/03/2010 22:50

glitterkitty don't you have your coffee in a tin at home anyway? Couldn't you just take the asame tin? Or take coffee camping in a clip-top tupperware container? or an old jam jar?

I just take a small cafetiere too

PrettyCandles · 20/03/2010 23:06

glitterkitty · 21/03/2010 20:42
