Dp is a bit anal about his tents but I'm thinking considering other makes would open up a whole lot of other options.

OP posts:

They all compare very well imo.
Can i add Terra Nova to your list too?

Heathcliffscathy · 18/03/2010 12:58

god for one terrible terrible moment i thought this was in babynames!

troutpout · 18/03/2010 13:09

pmsl...i'm thinking Kyham is a bit chavvy tbh

There will be a Kyham out there somewhere though won't there

troutpout · 18/03/2010 13:10

actually Kyham is a very nice name...yes indeedy

DorotheaPlenticlew · 18/03/2010 13:10

I also though it was a names thread initially.

Phew. Esp re Vango.

BigTillyMint · 18/03/2010 15:07

Khyam chavvy?????????

Can a tent be chavvy?

BigTillyMint · 18/03/2010 15:08

just realised what you meant!

Still, maybe my tent is chavvy

dreamingofsun · 18/03/2010 17:27

why am i chavvy please?

troutpout · 18/03/2010 20:03

This is a tent brands thread mistaken as baby names

You aren't really called kyham are you?

No... tents can't be chavvy

Oh shite

roffle at troutpout, and I also agree with trouty re them all comparing well.

Terra Nova is on another level though I think. They are more of a technical tent (read expensive). My friends who are proper stride about up a mountain and eat dried food wot the astronauts eat (can't remember proper terminology) have Terra Nova tents.

troutpout · 19/03/2010 17:12

When I say Terra nova... I was thinking more of their family range of tents - 'Wild country tents'. They might be worth a look too Mila .We've got one and .. i like it even better than my Outwell.

Slubberdegullion · 19/03/2010 17:47

When did you get the Wildcountry trouty?

Were we privy to this new tent addition?

Is it a new tent addition?

troutpout · 20/03/2010 11:02

Last year Slubber. Yes I came on here and gushed. . He (Terry ) is very handsome.

Slubberdegullion · 21/03/2010 18:02

Terry? Terry the tent?

I thought all tents were female for a start (like boats)?

Sorry to have missed your gushings. I looked on and admired a Wild Country tent in the Lakes last year. My residing memory was that it was nice and taut.

Lucycat · 21/03/2010 18:05

Terry is a tent ...as in June? is that when you are going to use 'him'?

Why Terry?

and why have we not seen a picture of Terry?

Slubberdegullion · 21/03/2010 18:08

YES

Where is the picture of Terry in action?

Slubberdegullion · 21/03/2010 18:09

am humming the Terry and June theme tune now imagining trouty banging in her pegs and Mr trouty falling over backwards in his camping chair.

Lucycat · 21/03/2010 18:37

lol - yes me too - the tune and the imagery!

Mr Troutpout in too tight Terry shorts and Terry the tent being a nice orange and brown number with net curtains.

and troutpout in a Margot kaftan (yes I know I'm mixing my seventies sitcoms but they would have made such a lovely couple)

Slubberdegullion · 21/03/2010 18:42

LOL

ahh but Terry The Wild cOuntry tent is transmogrifying into a Cabanon now.

Mr Troutpout has absolutely got too tight and too short white shorts on, with white sports socks and those blue plastic slip on sandals, with a bar acroos the front.

he likes to bang in his windbreaks.

trouty rolls her eyes a lot at him, but does make good use of the washing line he has strung up along the hedge for drying her smalls and the tea towels.

Slubberdegullion · 21/03/2010 18:45

There is a small formica table on which the radio goes (hooked up to EHU) so they can still listen to radio 2.

Lucycat · 21/03/2010 18:52

with a nice melamine flowery teapot, milk jug and sugar bowl on it.

and a plate of custard creams.

troutpout is sooooo gonna kill us (snigger)

Slubberdegullion · 21/03/2010 18:56

rofl

oh I'm getting into the swing of this.

Yes yes yes to the melamine sugar bowl with sugar lumps in.

they have inside and outside slip on plastic shoes. They like to have them lined up nicely outside. Mr Troutpout turns the outside ones around when he comes into the tent, so he can slip them on easily when exiting it.

Lucycat · 21/03/2010 19:04

with a 'Welcome to our Tent' doormat and candlewick spreadspreads over the airbeds.

Slubberdegullion · 21/03/2010 19:06

Mr Troutpout has hand turned a pole he hammers in from which the melamine mugs hang.

there are 8 in case they have friends over.
