The tiny little bastards.

The agos play teepee has been chewed to buggery so that is in the bin.

They have set up camp inside the fold up chairs (outwell armchair delux ), and have chewed various holes in both and the bags. They obviously have a thing for toggles as toggles from various bags have been removed and placed inside the chairs.

There is mouse piss and shit over everything else, includng all the blankets and sleeping bags. Thank GOD they haven't eaten the sleeping bags or the tent side panels.

They have also done an exceedingly good job at secreting away the bird peanuts into every nook and cranny they have managed to squeeze their syphillitic little bodies into.

Well they are all going to DIE now.

And I am going to start cleaning every single sodding item of our camping stuff.

Ooooh gutted! Mice are bastards.

Buda · 17/03/2010 13:07

Ouch!!!

BariatricObama · 17/03/2010 13:19

omg! nuke 'em.

Slubberdegullion · 17/03/2010 13:19

urgh.

I'm going to have to do this in stages. God the stench is awful.

The only silver lining so far is I've just discovered a very well padded nest inside dh's box of psychiatry books (he is not a psychiatrist) - at last an excuse to chuck them out. They also found my Contented Little Baby Book in there, and have used it well, mostly as a loo.

Comewhinewithme · 17/03/2010 13:20

Awwww bless em .

BariatricObama · 17/03/2010 13:21

where do you keep your stuff or do you live in a mice infested midden!

overmydeadbody · 17/03/2010 13:26

Oh the bastards!!!!!!

Sorry to hear about that slubber.

I have just spent the morning sorting out my camping gear too, as I am stuck at home with a poxy DS.

overmydeadbody · 17/03/2010 13:29

most sensible use for the contented little baby book, imo

Good news about the psychiatry books too.

And anyway, another silver lining is you get to buy new cmping gear!

Slubberdegullion · 17/03/2010 13:49

I most certainly do not live in a mice infested midden thankyouverymuch -only the other day I was bragging about not needing to keep mouse traps under the sink.

[mmhmm something about pride cometh and all that]

no all the camping stuff bar the tent live in the garage.

The garage where I foolishly left a large bag of bird peanuts open for all and sundry.

omdb sadly the chairs, although munched are still perfectly serviceable (although they do reek), I'm not going to get a shopping trip out of that .

OP posts:
Slubberdegullion · 17/03/2010 13:50

poor old poxy ds btw

OP posts:
BariatricObama · 17/03/2010 13:53

you need large plastic boxes with tight fitting lids (i am fully aware that you will find such talk highly arousing!)

Slubberdegullion · 17/03/2010 13:56

oooh..

boxes...

tight fitting lids...

[desert island discs music]

Quite a lot of the stuff is in boxes with lids, but obviously NOT ENOUGH STUFF.

I'm not sure there exists a box big enough for the camping chairs mind you.

Right back to it

Good grief, just HOW many mouse traps are there available on the market these days?

I was most tempted by something shiny and sharp looking which had PROFESSIONAL STRENGTH emblazoned in red across the front. I pondered momentarily on what an amateur strength mouse trap would achieve - maybe a mild bit of bruising.

I got something with 'easy function' and a 'deep bait well'.

heh heh heh

man those fuckers are so dead.

While you were busy worrying about baking, you should have been buying a shotgun instead .

Slubberdegullion · 17/03/2010 16:12

EXACTLY

all that fretting over nothing at all when I could have been concentrating on rodenticide.

I flipping hate mice. I was absolutely appalled when I found them in my garage. They, like yours, had spent the winter chewing through all the bird seed and nuts I had stored in there.

Imagine my distress when I realised what had probably happened to the net bag of chocolate coins that I had given to my DS and his friend a couple of weeks earlier. It was torn and chewed but probably not by the children sneaking into the garage and helping themselves when I wasn't looking - which is what I accused them of ....

I hadn't actually discovered the mice at that point.

lol (and eek) at your golden coins notwaving. Poor ds and his friend. Did they go on to eat the coins?

No they are not Mutt. They have pissed their last in my garage.

OP posts:
notwavingjustironing · 17/03/2010 16:56

Yes they ate the coins. And I gave them a big lecture about the ones they had already eaten (and the wrappers that they had left behind). I feel sick every time I think about it...

Slubberdegullion · 17/03/2010 16:59

oh

bleurgh

And how old will ds have to be before you own up to that? Or is it never?

OP posts:
thehillsarealive · 17/03/2010 17:05

never own up to the coin palava.

My camping gear is out in our summer house shed and I think it is safe, but as DH had enough camping last year to last a life time it is neither here nor there if a mouse has scoffed it all.

Lucycat · 17/03/2010 18:17

Omg slubber!! Thank gawd they haven't tunnelled into the house to get to the Cabanon!! I'm a little worried about our stuff now but I can't face opening the shed - Lucy the cat is a crap mouser.

Slubberdegullion · 17/03/2010 18:49

Thank gawd indeed Lucy. I would have been inconsolable had they got their little teeth into that gold standard french canvas.

I fear for your Lakey. Open the shed door and have a sniff for mouse piss fumes.

OP posts:
MrsGokWantsatidyhouse · 17/03/2010 21:03

Slubber I feel your pain. DH went to get our stuff out last weekend to find we have been invaded by rats! eeeek!! Thus far we haven't been and got everything out yet, so don't the full extent of the damage. DH shoved it all back in and went and got rat poison etc.

Like you we were lucky and the tent was seperate. Ours was hung out in the loft.

troutpout · 18/03/2010 08:49

Little fuckers
Yes...nuke em slubber...touching the camping stuff is a step to far
