Are there any camping shops with a good selection of tents put up in the South West?

Really want to see our new tent up before we buy. Have been to the place in Ashburton but they only sell Outwell, want to see other makes too in particular Vango. We're in Devon but will travel further afield.

TIA

google Yeomans outdoor leisure, they have tents located in garden centres I think , I just had a quick nose ( i'm supposed to be working !!) they seem to cover a large area of the country. I'm a bit of a camping virgin and we bought our first tent on line, wouldn't do it again without seeing it up.Good luck

Try Somerset camping, 100s of tents. I've been to the one in Ashburton and the Somerset place is about 10x as big. Maybe too far?

Or google and see if Blacks are doing any of their tent road shows, they normally start in May time.

Is that the one at Walford Cross stripy? If so I second that one.

Sanders garden world has one or one right next door to it at junction 22 on the m5 (brent knoll) but check if it's open, it might be a bit early in the season for that sort of thing...
taunton leisure are helpful

go outdoors in brislington bristol has a selection - perhaps smaller than the others suggested.

decathlon but that's up in birmingham and there's a megastore in london's canada water which is always a great place to get all types of sport gear!

Going to do both that Somerset one and the Brislington one this weekend. Thanks

I would second Yeomans. They do tent exhibitions where they put loads of different tents up in a field so you can compare them. They also have a marquee selling camping equipment if you need anything else. We had more or less chosen our tent online, but wanted to see it in real life and we could also compare it to others which were similar. You can take a tent away on the day if you want.

Ooo thanks just rang both the others only the Brislington one had the makes we're after up. Thanks

Marcrus camping in Bitton may be worth a phone call and a look if you are in the Bristol area. (Assuming they are still in business - I have a feeling the Hotwells store is gone.) We bought our tent there a couple of years ago.
