Hi

We are looking to go with a group of friends to Croyde / Saunton Sands area and am wondering if anyone has any recommendations for this area. We'll be a group of 3 tents (6 adults and 6 kids) all aged between 3 and 7.

We have stayed at Hidden Valley just outside braunton which was very nice ,a quite site in a valley with a stream, you can read more extensive reviews on campsite uk!

We went to Bay View Farm in Croyde last year, good site (chippy on site!) with good-sized pitches, some lovely views over to Lundy and a fabulous kiddie playground. Shower/toilet acilities were a bit on the old side but clean and working. 15 mins scenic walk to Croyde beach (would be a lot less if your kids walk faster than mine - not difficult!!).

We were there early in summer when site wasn't full so not sure how it would be when heaving at peak time.

Google mitchums meadow. A gang of us went there every year when we were kiddie free and in our twenties. Just loved it. We stayed at the beach campsite. Not sure how suitable it is for kids or indeed whether children are accepted as it wasn't a concern at the time, but worth having a look at for the stunning location and the great people who run their sites. V jealous, feeling all nostalgic now.

Watch that beach (Croyde) with small kids - can have a vicious rip-tide.
