Just wonderd if anyone could recommend a small family friendly IoW campsite for a family of 5 - 2 adults, 3yr, 2yr and newborn (gulp!). Would like to hire a campervan for a long weekend in August. Ideally looking for somewhere small and basic - no pool, gamesrooms etc. Just toilets and hot showers would be fine...ususally these places are word of mouth as they don't have websites, so if anyone could help that would be great.

look at www.ukcampsites.co.uk - when we went a few years ago i found that a lot of sites insist on you going for a full week - more than on the mainland. i seem to remember there was at least one that sounded what you are looking for but can't remember the name

We went to the most perfect campsite last year. Carpenters Farm. I can't recommend it highly enough. It's family run and I notice they are closed until March 2nd but if you send an email it will be logged in the queue (at least it was for us last year.)

Compton Farm or Grange Farm. I prefer the former. It is very basic but a proper farm campsite and never gets crowded.

Grange Farm is great, but if you get hit by winds then blimey it is wild.
