Campsites recs in the Loire please!

We've been to the vendee a few times and are now thinking about the Loire as we didn't use the beach that much so it isn't an essential and would like a shorter drive.

DD will be 5 - do young families go to the Loire?

Whats the weather like in August in the Loire?

I've only been to Chantepie in the Loire, but it was lovely

My parents live in the Loire near Amboise, so we're there every August. No camping experience to share, but there's heaps to do with kids in the area and the weather is generally glorious. There was a thread about camping in the Loire last year here. Sure you'll find it useful, it has lots of links.
