Can anyone recommend any basic campsites in this area. Just want a bog standard site with toilet/showers/washing up facilites, with nice walks nearby, coast not too far away.

Thanks

There is a great site near Seahouses, in Northumberland. Just over the road from the beach, and in a lovely area. Can't remember the name of it, but it's a Caravan Club one so it should be in their brochure somewhere.

The Seahouses one is called Beadnell Bay. There's not much there but you aren't far from Beadnell (walkable) or Seahouses and you are right across the road from the dunes. There's another one along the same bit of road - Annstead Farm. Do a search for Beadnell on UKCampsite.co.uk and you should find both. Craster Arms pub in Beadnell is good and the Ship Inn in Seahouses too. If I win the lottery I'm moving up there!

I don't think the Beadnell campsite is very nice personally. Very near the road and rather characterless and bleak. The one we have gone to in the past is Goswick - just behind the beach, pretty relaxed site with horse-riding on site. Not posh and stuffy at all. There are also sites at Dunstan and Waren Mill, but I haven't been to those.

Seriously, Beadnell is bleak, not in a good way
