how many cool blocks does a family really need?

We have four, and we struggled this holiday (first camping holiday), borrowing some from the lovely campsite owner

someone has offered me some free; but I don't want to take more than I need

We usually picnic during the day, and keep milk in the tent. Also I don't know how many campsite owners are happy with you freezing - don't want to be the annoying bird with the freezer full of damn blocks

please suggest a sensible number for a chronic overpacker

I would go with 4 or . Then you have 2 in the freezer and 2 in the coolbox. I always freeze a 4pint bottle of milk before we go as it's usuallly still good for day 2 or 3 and acts as an extra cool block.
