Anyone still got more camping trips planned ?

We have dried tent out now and washed and cleaned everything and put it away.
Am still slightly hopeful that we may get another weekend (hoping for bit of September sunshine ) but the weather is very cold and wet here so quite that this may be the end of our camping season!

We are going to London in the October break

Might need to get extra heating.

Fennel - We camped at lower foxhangers which is at the bottom of the Caen Hill lock flight.

2 small fields that were sloping and 1 was quite exposed to the wind. There were only 3 tents and about 8 caravans there the whole weekend. Only cost £11 per night - priced per pitch so cheap whether just the 2 of us or if we take the kids..

Loos and showers were unisex (2 of each) but clean and the 2 washing up sinks were inside. Very quiet site but only about 400 yards from the canal.

Have a sore backside today as DH & I cycled to Bath and back along the towpath on Saturday which was a 40 mile round trip. It turned into a bit of a pub crawl on the way home . Can reccomend the Lock Inn at Bradford on Avon for family friendly food.

We had a look at 2 nearby campsites but were not impressed. The caravan & camping club one was mostly vans in rows on gravel and felt like we would have lowered the average age by 50 years. There was another one backing onto the 3 Magpies pub but that was a very exposed to the wind and the portaloo showers looked icky.

At least one more. Hoping to go away in a fortnight. don't know where yet...somewhere up in the hills (peaks) as it's so nearby
