We have portaloos and a standpipe.

Is it going to be a cold wash in the tent?

Do you just tie your hair back and relax?

troutpout · 25/08/2009 20:21

Yep..How long are you going for?
It'll have to be a wash in the tent then i guess.

hocuspontas · 25/08/2009 20:21

If it's only for a weekend just don't wash. If it's for longer find a swimming pool.

troutpout · 25/08/2009 20:22

go to a local leisure centre and use their shower

IOnlyReadtheDailyMailinCafes · 25/08/2009 20:23

That shower is out of stock locally and online. How does it work?

you can probably get one from millets or somewhere. i've never used one, but i'm guessing that you fill it with water, leave it out in the sun to warm up, hang it on a porch pole and let gravity do its thing?

if your not getting salty or muddy, wet wipes/ flannel will be adequate.

IOnlyReadtheDailyMailinCafes · 25/08/2009 20:32

Will just have to get the sex in on night one.

washing bowl and flannel, stand on a towel

millenniumfalcon · 26/08/2009 21:55

washing up bowl

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 26/08/2009 21:57

Depending how long you are going for...

I go for 3-4 days without a shower, but usually am near the sea at least and have a dip or 2.

I heat water and wash all the essentials with that and some shower gel, use a head band/baseball cap to cover my greasy hair by the end.

thrifty · 27/08/2009 07:46

wow, loving sss's portable power shower :-)

just go with the filth, all that messing round with solar showers and the like will be a pita

FlamingoBingo · 27/08/2009 09:11

Strip wash in the tent with a flannel and a washing up bowl of water heated on the stove - easy peasy, works fine

WidowWadman · 27/08/2009 09:20

Friday to Monday really shouldn't be an issue without a wash. Everybody is going to be equally smelly and it'll keep the midges off.

luckylady74 · 27/08/2009 09:27

I remember by mum 30 years ago in our tent saying 'look at these amazing new things - they're called 'wet ones' and a wipe down with these is as good as a bath!'
I remain unconvinced, but a weekend wouldn't bother me.

IOnlyReadtheDailyMailinCafes · 27/08/2009 09:38

I have bought some dry shampoo , wet wipes and some flannels.
