Where can I find a campsite for August Bank Holiday within 2 hours of London????

OK OK I have left it too late. Have looked in the New Forest - seems pretty much booked out. Don't mind where we go, just not a long drive from London and we have a tent. Need showers/ toilets etc.
Can anyone recommend an "unknown" site, or knows of one with availability???

Try Manor Court Farm on the East Sussex/Kent borders. I don't know about availability for the BH weekend but they have plenty of space at the moment (DH and DS are there at the moment and I am very envious) so it's worth checking. Lovely site with spotless toilets and showers.

debden house - epping forest. We're going this weekend and only booked today

our tent is ordered now so maybe the next weekend, somewhere close to London for our first camping trip...both of those sound nice. We are the north side of London so I was also thinking about Norfolk.

I've been to both of these and would recommend them both.

Hi, I have just bought a campsite in Suffolk, we probably have availability but we do not move in until this Friday 5th - if you want to call me on Saturday I can confirm availabilty for you. We are a rural campsite backing on to Newbourne Springs nature reserve and about ten mins from Woodbridge. It takes 1 hour (usually!) to get there from the Dartford tunnel. We can offer toilets and showers.

yes, its happening, but no showers except bring your own solar showers in a bag!! If you can face a weekend of grubbiness then our farm is open. there is a thread a bit further down under 'MN camp'
