Swanage - Primrose hill or Woodhyde?

Does anyone know either of these sites? I want to take DS next week but am not sure which to chose. I don't need a clubhouse or pool or anything, I'm used to basic camping but my criteria are:

quiet-ish site
hot showers
water tap
washing up facilities

erm, that's it.

woodyhyde is fab because you can wave at the steam trains. also nice walk over the common to corfe.

don't know about tother one though.

Woodhyde is good for the train, but it is also rather large and has appaling washing up facilities (just one sink outside the toilet block that everyone has to queue up for).

I'd stay in Tom's Field personally, when I go to Swanage.

I've looked at Tom's Field but it sounded like it'd be really busy.

Another option would be Burnbake.

Woodyhyde looks fab for the trains!

Talkto me about Toms Field please! Am REALLY not a camper at all but have large group of friends going there soon and am tempted to take the dds who are nearly 1 and 2. Have stayed in Swanage before- but always at the Purbeck House Hotel.. Not an option to stay anywhere else just wanted reassurance!
And from what I know you can turn up in the holidays parts of field are first come first served.

Try Norden Farm, just the other side of Corfe Castle.

I was thinking of trying Burnbake next week as the site looks nice. Don't know anything about it and based on my current noisy experience I'm obviously not a judge of quiet sites!

Ah, not sure if Burnbake is very quiet - it is only tents and camper vans but from the reviews they say there is alot of families... but should be free of drunked 20 year olds rolling in at 2am I guess MollieO - we are heading there on Thurs

We were planning to do 2 nights there from Thurs. Not sure if I'm completely put off now or will give it another go.

I'm in a quandry now! Cannot decide between burnbake or woodyhyde. Can you walk to the beach from Woodyhyde?

Washing up sounds like a pain but there's only 2 of us so we can do it at the tent, I suppose.

Can anyone vouch for the showers?

I would go to Toms field. I camped there as a child every year. langton matravers is beautiful, thre are a few pubs nearby and bakerys etc. The campsite is bsic but has loads of space for the kids to play.Your children will meet other children.There are good walks bearby aswell. I went back there a few years ago and couldnt believe that it hadnt changed but was relieved that it was all still there. I have alot of fond memories.

We stayed at Durdle Door last week (in a caravan but they do camping) - my god the site is good, great showers/facilities.

The sunsets from ten feet from the campsite were amazing - one bit of the camping was in a sheltered wood, others directly on the cliff.

In case anyone checks back, Woody Hyde was lovely. Perfect for families, lovely view across the valley and of the steam trains. Showers were not the best but perfectly usable.
