thought i could resist the lure of the fairy lights, but it's getting darker earlier and earlier lately and goddamnit it's my birthday

anyone know where i could pick up battery/solar lights today (off tomorrow so no time for post)? we've got most chain stores around here, have searched what i think of as most obvious places, found some possibles in b&q and argos but both are coloured/colour changing and i really want just plain white.

Could you try a garden centre?

Uriel · 13/08/2009 09:49

Sainsbury's? Picked up some solar fairy lights there earlier in the year.

Washersaurus · 13/08/2009 09:53

Maplin do white solar ones, I think they are £30

nicknameidlike · 13/08/2009 09:53

tesco has blue ones not sure about white

Uriel · 13/08/2009 09:53

The ones I got were white, btw.

nicknameidlike · 13/08/2009 09:54

dont forget your bunting to make it all complete!

millenniumfalcon · 13/08/2009 09:56

ooh sainsbos is worth a shot, thought about garden centres but our local one is a chain and they don't have any fairy lights listed on their website. quite poss they'd still have some but want to avoid wild goose chase if poss as i still have all the packing to do today (although from now on i will have my box of essentials all ready to go...)

a question about solar lights - will they only turn on when they think it's dark enough or can you tell the when to turn on?
