How do I keep my slippery toddler on his airic?

That's it really - he's in a sleeping bag on an airic mat, but always rolls off it and ends up under me or on me! Tie him on? peg him down?

Staples

Sheet over the mat helps. We have this problem and have found squidging all 4 mats together, with the dds in the middle and blankets over and tucked around then they have no means of escape.

EccentricaGallumbits · 02/08/2009 20:14

Doh! staples would pop mat.

I do find that even my large DDs migrate during the night and end up all over the place. I put all our mats together and end up in a big sleeping heap.

Ooh, and I also want to attach dp's and my mats - duct tape maybe?

You could try the Thermarest Universal Mattress Coupler - should even work for Airics!

Genius! thank you!

We cover the floor of the sleeping area with the roll-up foam camping mats. DD (9) now usually manages to stay in the same place, but DS (5) still rolls all over the entire floor and I need to shove him over when he gets too close. Both sleep like logs on them.

cockles · 18/08/2009 13:47

Thermarest coupler doesn't work to attach airics, just to report back...

what about putting a sheet down UNDER the airmat,
put it the wrong way round so the long bit goes around the body.
put child on airmat with sleeping bag etc etc, then tuck then pull the sheet right over them and tuck it in underneath?

(not sure if ive explained what i mean well enough?)

cockles · 18/08/2009 19:56

Hmm, not a bad idea if I coudl stay awake to do that manouevre once he's gone to sleep!
Or buy a kampa junior airbed which Ive just done...

how did you find out that it doesn't fit airics? We could do with something like this for our aldi mats.

cockles · 21/08/2009 18:59

I bought it and tried it out. The buckles are in the wrong place, I think airics must be wider. It's doable but then you are lying on a buckle. Ribbon would work just as well!

OP posts:
motherducky · 21/08/2009 20:55

ahh right, I'll have to check the width measurements then. Thank you!

Would it work on a Slim Airic, do you think (or was that what you tried it on)?
