I've just come back from camping in the rain and it was brilliant fun! Just make sure you all have waterproof coats and trousers and say to yourself 'life is what you make it - I am going to enjoy this!' and you will.

Don't attempt to get the tent up in record time, just laugh at how ridiculously hard it is

Take lots of games etc. to play in the tent (although you'll be visiting family so that may not be a problem).

Take bin bags for wet clothes, and plenty of changes of clothes.

What brought us back home early was DD1 being sick in the middle of hte night from food poisoning . We left the tent (only 1/2 hour away) and DH just went to get it now.
