No - Eweleaze has never been crowded or noisy when we have been there. There is a designated family field if you want guarantees, but we have never had any problems. The lower fields are better if you want to avoid wind - camping up on the beach or top fields may be inviting trouble. It is truly heaven on earth. We will be there mid August too, so I am putting my money where my mouth is.

I've been. It's very crowded if you want to pitch in a field on the left where there are sea views. Not crowded if you pitch on the right away from the sea views. Whatever the website says about maximum numbers on the site is ignored as there were a lot more tents.

Away from the sea on the right is more sheltered as you're in a dip. I have heard about people having tents damaged by the wind in the other fields.

It was noisy when I was there, but there is a quiet field which I didn't pitch in as I didn't know about it. If I was going back I'd head there to minimise the risk of having to listen to guitar playing until 2:00am every night.

It is a lovely place though. Great setting.

Lovely place. Incredibly crowded when I went a couple of years ago and frankly the facilities were unable to cope...

mmm not hugely keen on 2am guitar playing and high wind even though am sure tent will be ok so looks like will have to forfeit sea view.... when you say crowded... was there space for kids to run around at all? as will have a 6,4, and 2x3 year olds at some stage during the trip...and older kids playing cricket/football between the tents at the last place was a nightmare.....

Parts of the sea view field were "crossed guylines" type camping. I remember struggling to thread my way through the field to get to the path down to the beach. There was certainly loads of room in the field I was in, massive field with only about 8 tents in it.

We were there this time last year. It wasn't crowded, windy or noisy. There was lots of space in our field, which was the one closest to the beach.

It was nice.

Anyone who has been to Eweleaze - have you ever had a problem with ticks? I always worry a bit about fields where sheep have been grazed, as my dog used to pick up loads from sheep fields.
