Am I mad for thinking we might get a late booking for a weekend in two weeks

or is everything going to be full?

We we're planning a long weekend in Cornwall but the weather is looking awful for it.

We are in Essex so v expensive for fuel if we are going to go and sit in a tent for 4 days.

Does anybody think we might get a late booking somewhere if we cancel cornwall? or have any recommendations for places nearby ie Suffolk/Norfolk

You should be able to find somewhere cleser that isn't fully booed. Lots of campsites have areas that can't be booked in advance, but operate on a first come first served policy.

It is worth calling around. Most of my summer camping trips are only ever booed about two weeks beforehand.

There are always sites free even on August weekends. Some sites don't take bookings.

Look at the smaller sites, slightly inland. We often go camping, always at short notice, and often in popular areas. We phone the sites a day or two before we go to check availability or book then.

Yay found a lovely site called Breck Farm in Norfolk. Lovely working farm and they see their produce to the campers too

Farmer said they have acres of room so no need to book and best of all campfires and positively encouraged
