We've just got back from a showery camping trip in Susex to find our apple tree half uprooted, It was windy in Sussex but not that bad. Have I missed something?

It has been pretty squally and very wet, in full leaf I wouldn't be surprised for the odd tree to be dislodged.

About 4pm ish it suddenly got really windy, almost like a gale - my DS's chair blew across the garden (never known it happen before as our garden is walled so doesn't get much wind at ground level). I went out and lay the sun umbrella on the ground because I was worried it was going to be yanked off and blown away.

We've been out of London all day. We found our patio umbrella blown over when we got back. Thats only happened once or twice before.

Quite windy in SE London, yes. My tree has done an impression of the Womping Willow on Harry Potter, when it turns to winter!
