Any other scouters? What happens with sanitary waste at your camp?

Our troop go to green field sites with just a tap in the way of amenities. The toilet contents are emptied into a purpose dug cess pit. Other unrecyclable waste is burnt after campfire.

What does your troop do with sanitary waste? We are due to go in 2 weeks and my period is due the week we are there but they are horrific since having dc.

I have been thinking about getting one but I'm not sure I want to try one for the first time in the middle of a field!

When I used to camp with the guides, we had strong paper bags to put the waste in, then it got burnt.
