Dh is 6ft 2 so we need a high in the middle tent with a bed bit at either end, maybe a 6 person tent (for 3 of us regularly & 4 for this holiday). It has to be fairly easy to put up & not have too many guy ropes.

Will we be able to take our gazebo?

We also need a fridge - can anyone recommend a make or model to look at? I think it will have to be gas.

& finally I need a decent bed - we are looking at old fashioned Zed beds which are now apparently called 'guest' beds. Or is there something else that will pack up small? (a camp bed won't be supportive enough & I have a ruber allergy so no blow up beds )

Can I just say that everyone on the camping section has been so helpful & supportive of our first venture into camping - be sure that if we hate camping we will be selling what ever we bought on here so recommend very good stuff

Yes the 400 isn't tall enough. There are only 4 of us so we were looking at the 400, then the 600 and finally plumped for the 800 and love it. There is a Tigris 400DLX if you google which I was very tempted by.

I have narrowed it down to a fewover here

we also went for the tigris 800 (family of 4) and love it too. Easy to put up, very spacious, lots of flexibility over sleeping arrangements (if fewer than 8 of you).
I think the only drawback was that it felt quite hot in the middle of the day but I expect many polyester tents are like this.

By the way vanillaP to go back to a recent conversation on another thread the extra part we have is the tunnel extension which comes out to the front (leading off from central living area) like a porch...good for keeping wellies and cooking bits under.

I still think the Tigris 600 is a scrap big for us

But I really like the bedrooms separately at either end

I'm not sure I need such a big tent

Big is good KatyMac

Oh brill news about your extension, Happywomble. I still want one but I have just prioritised a Cobb BBQ and proper cool box so it will have to wait a bit....along with the wind break......

The Florida is just soooo wide compared to the Monty. I saw them side by side at a tent show the other day. I agree most outwells are good for head height. We struggled to find a Vango tent that 6ft4 DH could stand up in properly whilst we were wondering around the tent place browsing.

I know you say you don't need a big tent Katymac, but do compare the sleeping area sizes as they may not all fit a folding bed or similar in - depending on the tent design.

I think I am going to have a blow-up mattress with the mattress off my sofa bed on top

So no allergies, a bit of height & hopefully a nice happy back
