Does everyone wear make-up while camping or do you embrace a more natural appearance?

I am rather curious.

I still feel the need to apply mascara and sometimes eyeshadow while I'm camping, when I'm sure it makes bugger all difference in reality, but it makes me feel a bit better if nothing else.

I'm lucky if I brush my hair when I go camping never mind wear makeup.

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 24/06/2009 21:22

stripey - the same. I use it as a great opp to not bother brushing my hair for days on end. I clean my teeth, wash my hands. That is it unless I have been in the sea. Then I will have a shower and not dry my hair.

WildThing I think you win for most make-up applied while camping!

Stripey I never bruch my hair anyway, so no differnet when camping

JonathanRipples I heart your name, DS is the biggest Andy Stanton fan ever!!!!!

It's funny, the amount of time and makeup I use to look like I'm not wearing any - you'd think camping au naturel would be ok.

But.. there's 'no makeup makeup' and there's 'no makeup' and they are scarily poles apart.

very true TsarChasm.

I have contemplated getting my eyelashes tinted so I can have a break from wearing mascara wihout scaring everyone.

Oh yes do, it makes a big difference. I have mine done every 3 weeks or they go blonde.

woollyjo · 24/06/2009 22:10

I don't usually wear make up, unless going out so def don't wear it camping.

I have short stand-up-looking-a-fright-if-I-don't-wash-it-daily hair and that's what sun hats and woolly hats are for.

cleansing wipes, moisturiser with a high SPF, tooth paste.

No make up here. Havent got the energy or inclination to apply it and then remove it at night.

PlumpRumpSoggyBaps · 28/06/2009 17:27

Definitely no make up. But then the only time I go camping is for one weekend per year, for karate camp.

Not only would they laugh at me if I wore make up, it would only get wiped off onto my gi along with the sweat.

(It's not just the karate moves that scare people, you know)

going camping for first time next week and will NOT be taking makeup

Surfermum · 28/06/2009 18:45

I always take it but don't apply it often. Maybe if we are going to the pub in the evening.
