dinners - red beans and rice with those vacuum-based sausages from Lidl mixed in and a can of kidney beans and a tin of onions to bulk it out

risotto - tin of onion, tin of peas, tin of tuna; broth made from a cube and boiling water.

couscous with chorizo, broad beans, squeeze of lemon, olive oil and rosemary.

tinned soups with tin of tuna or vacuum-packed sausages thrown in, as well as an extra tin of beans and spices. can even stir in some pasta.

spag bol (usually on the first night)

pizzas made from naan breads

all these dishes can be made meatless, too.

We alternate bacon sarnies with something healthier- fruit, or cereal.

Dinners- whatever we found at the local fishmongers or butchers- salmon in a amrinade, scallops, DH loves to do a seafood mix, Paella. lAst time we did a full roast beef with yokshires in the open air- yum!

We do like to buy day by day locally if we can, and often you'll find great quality burgers or similar in a decent butchers store- so we just play by ear.

well breakfast is the same as at home. Cereal or muisli and fruit.

I take lots of litle cartons of UHT milk, so we don't need a fridge.

Dinner is pretty similar to what we have at home, just simplified. I'd recommend cooking meals your family are largely used to already, rather than trying to do what other people do.

An awful lot of meals can be prepared using ambient food products and a few locally bought fresh things on the day.
