Anyone want to help me find a campsite....

..for a family camping weekend. It's my parent's Golden Wedding Anniversary. My idea, so I have to find the site. We're all split between London/ Birmingham/ Bristol, so need somewhere all can reach in less than 2 hours. Need a quiet site (not into being entertained, baah!) hot showers (a must for my mum), we'll need to barbeque (sausages a must for DC ). All in all just somewhere plain lovely really. Was wondering about the New Forest, but have never been, but just need a good site anywhere really. Anyone got any suggestions? I'd be ever so grateful...

We went to one near brisytol- broadway House at CHeddar- but maybe for your needs Bracelands in the Forest of Dean? New Forest also good,easiest way to start is the Forest Holidays website, recommend Hollands Wood myself.

Mine love camping- they did marry young though, Mum was a teenager.

Some sites do those forest lodges don't they? So you can combine with those- BIL has severe ehalth problems so ahd one of those as has to have a proper bed, shower and loo very close by.

Mine love camping. They go all the time. It's me who can't get up...

Peachy what's Bracelands and Holland's Wood like then? Do tell. I want idyllic, quiet beautiful, but a bit of space for the kids to race about and kick a footie would be good too. Not too many people/ pitches. Just simple stuff really. A pretty field with a hot shower in would do. Oh and a loo would be kind of nice..

Fforest Fields - Buith Wells. Gorgeous campsite, lots of space for kids, you can hire a chimnea type thing for BBQs.

PortBlacks your secret's safe with me - you're right it's perfect. But, it's also nearly four hours from London. I might not persuade DH to drive that far - after all he is going to have to spend a whole weekend with my family, and that's a big ask in itself.....
bigbelly. That looks perfect for me too - but sadly not for my dad, who does so love his car, so wouldn't like the idea of it not being next to him. Sad but true...
Anyone else got any ideas then? This is all so incredibly helpful. + to think I don't even know any of you..

We're going here Rocks East in a couple of weeks. Quite basic but you can have fires etc. They're recommended in Cool Camping for Kids, so hopefully it'll be good!
