Sleeping bags v duvets in Eurocamp tents with beds???????

Me again, I can't stop thinking about our holiday! When I've camped properly in the past I've always had sleeping bags. However, as we're taking our children away for the first time and "eurocamping" it with proper beds etc I assumed I would just take their duvets (they are 1 and 2 1/2). Am I doing the right thing?

I don't have sleeping bags for the children at the moment so would have to go and buy some and am conscious of spending money unnecessarily. If it would make a huge difference though I would definitely consider it.

Any advice/opinions would be appreciated!

We've just returned from the Loire where we had a Eurocamp tent. DD1 (6) slept in a sleeping bag, DD2 (3.8) slept under a doubled over Eurocamp blanket (you get 5) and DS(2) was in his 2.5 tog grobag. DH and I took our winter duvet. We all wore long sleeved PJs.

We were all warm and toasty! The couriers say that the tents are actually warmer at night than mobile and I tend to agree!

I've just seen your other thread - the travel cot was absolutely fine and I think was a Graco or Chicco one - a little slimmer than prehaps you might have at home but I wouldn't take your own - just think of how much wine you could pack in!!

Premium nappies are pricey in the shops - either find the local Lidl (there are loads in France) and use theirs (v good!) or take loads if you are watching the pennies.

No - L'Etang de la Breche. Wasn't the weather fab!!

We took our duvets - winter ones and wre very cosy.
Hate sleeping bags - all thatnylon, yuck!

You think that you're being thrifty by going camping but its so easy for it to turn into an expensive holiday isn't it! Still.... I would still choose camping over anything! :-)

I hope we get good weather too! I'm already stocking up on fuzzy felts and colouring books though just in case. Not sure how I will keep my 1 year old occupied in case of bad weather, he just will not stay still for anything! Hopefully we won't need to.

Madamy - great apart from a terrific thunderstorm mid week with sheet and jagged lightening - was the most frightening site I've ever seen as we were travelling over flat country at the time with no sherlter.
