recommendations for south downs please or close to brighton...again please

i think i have already asked but lost in the mists.

looking for a camp site in the south downs OR near ish to brighton (need to visit ancient rellies)

any ideas please

There is a campsite at sheepcote valley (says caravan site but takes tents as well). I've never actually stayed there because I live so near Brighton there wouldn't be much point!

It is near the Kemptown area, between the marina and the racecourse and it's not too far from the touristy bits like the pier and Royal Pavilion.
