2 pronged attack - Suffolk campsites AND pitch size

We off to a wedding in Suffolk in June. It occurs to me I should book up somewhere to stay, near Bungay. Have made enquiries at one place BUT

They say their pitch size is a certain size. Our tent's enormous and I suspect will only just fit on there. Does that mean there will be another tent cheek by jowl with ours? I don't fancy much the whole Regimented-Rows of tents style camping and would like somewhere more informal.

Have you phoned them to talk about it? Some sites request that you book (and pay for!) two adjacent pitches if you have a huge tent.

GPWM - will find out.

What's the general rule tho'? Do sites that cite (see what I did there?) a pitch size generally try to cram'em in? Or is it because they want to give everyone a bit of space?

From my experience its to give everyone some space and to ensure there is enough space for the guy ropes. We have a big tent and some sites won't take it. I have to say that I much prefer the pitch where you like sites. But if you need an EHU then you will have to fit a pitch. Sorry can't help with a choice of site. We're off to Norfolk in June so fingers crossed for the weather and hope the wedding goes well.
