camping sites in the New Forest- Can you recommend any?

Fancy trying new forest in august, have seen quite a few on UKcampsites but would prefer some personal recs on here if possible

So do we but I tried asking and very little recommendations came up. We plumped for Lytton lawn just on the edge at Milford-on-sea but its also by the coast - its sister site has swimming pools, crazy golf etc for the children but this site is quiet - I hope!
It has good reviews and also a write up in Practical Caravan mag

I've taken my kids to Ashurst three times now and we always enjoy it.

It's a fairly basic site - don't expect swimming pools and restaurants. On the other hand, the shower block is big and clean, the site office does milk, bread and ice, the site's got lots of trees and wild ponies wandering through, you're right in the Forest itself so there's lots of exploring, and it's close to Lyndhurst for shopping etc.

Hollands Wood my favourite in the froest itself, thoughA shurst seems nice also

I've just been to one in Lymington
It had a lovely kiddie's climbing frame in the middle of the field and we camped twenty yards from it
