I NEED a ready bed by tomorrow - where can I buy one?

Don't say readybed.com, they take 3-4 working days to deliver. We need one double one for me and DH, and one for DD.

If not, can you recommend a good alternative that does not cost a fortune? (typically, readbed had a 50% offer on grr).

argos

Argos have blow up type beds, you could just then use sleeping bags with them.

Fimbo · 21/05/2009 13:49

Ah they are actual readybeds. here

Peachy · 21/05/2009 13:51

The double one is a bit like sleeping in a palstic bag Pavlov, or at least ours was but it was a few yeras back now

Cheap double bag and airbed or even duvets and airbed far better

Tesco sell their own make too. (obviously only the Extra stores though not your local Metro!)

pavlovthesmugcat · 21/05/2009 13:56

Thanks so much, my pregnancy head just went blank ! We are going to drive up to tesco and see if they got it there, if not, down to Argos.

Its such a shame readybed had a kingsize one, in sale for £60, and DDs toddler one for £25 . Thats what you get for not planning ahead eh?

peachy - problem with an airbed and duvet is the space we won't have, we got a bloody huge tent!

Was that the camping double or the normal double?

(also DH is quite heavy, need it to be robust and not likely to break easily).

Be warned that if your DH is tall he might not fit in it. Ready beds are less than 2m long iirc, and unlike an airbed where you can stick your head at the top and poke feet out of the bottom, you have to have your head poking off the top.

I laughed so hard at DP trying to fit in the one we bought but at 6'4" unless he tucked his legs right up so that they hit me in the back, there was no way he could lie in it.

Peachy · 21/05/2009 14:54

That was the argos one but can't remember much more; in the end we shoved a normal sleeping bag over the lot and it amde for an excellent insulated bed until the inner went.

We're getting a camping mat but can't justify until this airbed pops

Dunelm Mill sometimes have them.

pavlovthesmugcat · 21/05/2009 18:11

Oh we have a Dunelm Mill just opened near us, might pop in.

We bought the 'quickbed' from tesco but its a bit crap. Puncture kit is missing, it has no pump with it (stupidly thought quickbed meant just that, quick! The proper readybed from the website looks FAB, different from the ones in argos though...I think, we are going to try this one from tesco, if it is as crap as it looks, we shall return it as it has the puncture kit missing anyway and order the readybed.

DH is not 2m! He is a short ass like me luckily! He reckons he is 5'8. Er, no. 5'6 more like it, he gets so mad when I say that!
