We are going camping for first time this weekend with friends - our friends are lending us tent, what are the other essentials that we'll need?

we've got sleeping bags but not a lot else - our friends have a camper van so i guess we can borrow some stuff from them to...?

You might want to take your own stove/gas burner so you can make a cuppa whenever you want to rather than having to wait for them!

Yes, thats a good point!! We are not sure that we are going to be major campers - so we doin't want to spend a fortune on gear...

Is there anything other stuff you could think of? (we've got blow up beds)

large plastic box to keep stuff in.
tea towels,
kitchen roll,
torches,
picnic rug
first aid box

wine.
chocolate
toothpaste and brush

that's all

lots of warm things for at night. You'll be a lot warmer with a layer of something underneath your beds too - those foil blankets are good.

Something to sit on, chairs or rug.

Check they have enough crockery and cutlerey for you to share.

Penknife for whittling sticks for above food.
Thermal socks

tin/plastic mugs/spoon

Where are you going, camp site or roughing it?

We usually rough it so we have to take much more than that.
