don't want to pay a fortune - ds doing on a camping trip for a week in July, so not cold but could be wet! We have samll tents we have bought in asda for the odd night, but they do leak, so want to get something more robust, but not over-engineered..
would appreciate any recommendations fromMN experts - TIA

It's bigger than you need but I saw this at the weekend and thought it was a right bargain...not that I can afford it

Oh don't get one of those they are awful tents.

I met a family camping in one at the end of last season and the gap between the tent and groundsheet was so big we could see their feet from outside!

They were planning on taking it all back to Halfords as faulty as something was missing (pegs I think). I don't think their experience in that tent made them want to try camping again.

Just remembered that the lanterns that came with their tent died on the second night and they had to light up the tent with their son's lightsabre !

have just googled and seems like 3000mm hydrostatic head is what is needed... Have seen and 'easy pitch' gelert tent - are they really easy to pitch?

I'm not familiar with those tents I'm afraid. Check out the tent reviews section on UKCS
