Do I need an awning on a caravan at a festival?

Have finally booked the larmer tree festival and DH is agreeing to go on condition we rent a caravan.

There are some for rent at reasonable prices through the site, they offer as extras an awning (£80) and a table and chairs (£25).

Do you think an awning would be useful at a festival? (I have no idea about caravans/camping/festivals!)

Thanks a million.

Are you all off camping on bank holiday weekend then?

I'll try and post again next week

Def useful as you can peel off all the muddy gear in the awning and not trail it into the caravan. also somewhere to hang wet gear as you don't want to hang it in the caravan, and wet stuff can be hung over the chairs.

Somewhere to sit if you plan to come back and chill out anytime.

If you get chatting and freindly with people ideal place to sit and chat without actually having to have them in your caravan.

Thanks - that's really helpful.

I was thinking it would be somewhere to sit and chat if the DS were in bed (although I'm hoping they'll nap in the afternoons and stay up with us).

I'll think I'll go for it, it's our only "real" holiday and I want to convice DH 100% about going to festivals so will make it as comfortable as possible (and it's still cheaper than a tipi !)
