We've decided rather late that we want to go camping 2nd/3rd May but I'm struggling to find anywhere with availablity in easy reach of Bristol. Any suggestions please?

It would be our first camping holiday with DD (18 months) and probably our last chance before next baby comes along in July too. Now I've got the idea in my head I just really want to go - please help!!!! TIA

I'm off to bed now (not likely to sort out a campsite at 1am after all!) but will check back in the morning... thanks!

we have stayed at Bath Marina - but we have a caravan. Also here is lovely.

we went to the Forestry Comission site at the Forest of Dean, generally less than an hours drive from Bristol - we live in North Bristol, and it was our first camping trip in our new to us but old VW Camper

There is supposed to be a good site near Cheddar.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I found two with space in the end - Newton Mill in Bath (thanks Gigglewitch!) and Bank Farm on the Gower. I quite fancied the Gower so was all set to book but luckily did a quick Mumsnet search first and found this.

So we're off to Newton Mill which looks LOVELY - thanks all! Just need to buy a tent now

Another vote for Forest of Dean, lovely pub at Symonds Yat and woodland walks etc. It is not that far to Minehead and the Caravan and camping club site there is just off the moor and is great for long walks.

Oh absolutely FoD- our favourite site, lovely
