Camping tables/chairs that fold, anyone have one?

I'm not eating off my lap again this year. Have seen folding picnic combo's and wondered if anyone had them.
If you do, why the big variation in price and what would you recommend?

we have one, bought from Tam's (?) in Kingston last year, is great. not sure what you mean about price variation.

Daffodingles2 · 06/04/2009 17:41

Whatever you do sorky, don't buy the outwell folding table . It's expensive, poor quality and unstable with it's fold down the middle. I wish I'd chosen something else
Have a look at this slated table
HTH's

I was thinking of this or this but the price difference is quite big.
Are the ones with the seats attached worth it? or should we go for a table a separate chairs around it? s'pose that's a bit more versatile really.

go for the cheaper option - would be silly to spend £90 on a camping table you use a few times a year. imo

TheSynOddOneOfWhitby · 06/04/2009 17:50

We have This and it's fine - although we do take a couple of extra camping chairs too.

TheSynOddOneOfWhitby · 06/04/2009 17:51

For a bit of extra flexibility (knees touching is fine when eating but not when relaxing with a book)!

Amapoleon · 06/04/2009 17:52

We have the same one as TheSyn, it does the trick.

Amapoleon · 06/04/2009 17:53

i mean does the job, don't know where trick came from.

Hi, We have this one and it can be used by big and little people...and you can raise the height of it so knees dont bump!

Half the price of the first one!!

We have had 2 picnic tables and they both broke by the end of the camping trip. However, when they were useable they were great. We are looking at a smiliar thing but in aluminium and the legs of each seat is cross legs so we are thinking they will be a bit stronger.. Pricey too though. So if anyone has had one and disagree please let us know..

We had the blue folding one from Argos a few years ago, we put it up in the garden before we had a proper patio set of furniture and it was fine - until dh sat on on one corner and nearly tipped the whole thing over!

chipmonkey · 17/04/2009 17:30

I am fuming! I checked out sallystrawberries link to the table she wants from Argos, went to Argos Ireland and for the exact same thing they are charging 131.99 Euro which converts to 116.97 in British pounds! It is so typical of the way we get ripped off in Ireland! All the stores here have a sterling price and a euro price and they never compare favourably for us!
