we have a huge tent but some of the tents i see now make it look positively survival.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/03/2009 12:27

this one is quite big!

I tend to be wary of tents bigger than my downstairs floor!

WouldYouCouldYouWithAGoat · 03/03/2009 12:27

here is my tent, can you believe some campsites won't let us on?

OP posts:
WouldYouCouldYouWithAGoat · 03/03/2009 12:28

here is my actual tent

OP posts:
OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/03/2009 12:30

Its so unreasonable that they won't accept your first tent!

WouldYouCouldYouWithAGoat · 03/03/2009 12:31

i know - apparently it is bigger than the actual campsite or something but really!

WouldYouCouldYOuWithAGoat @ your first tent. This made my feel so much better, I really needed a laugh today!

Milliways · 03/03/2009 17:06

Trailer tent? takes up 18m2!!

Milliways · 03/03/2009 17:07

But my money is that this one wins

Washersaurus · 03/03/2009 22:48

On a more realistic note; I have been inside one of these XL Royal Bordeaux tents more pics, and it is fecking enormous! It does have a utility/conservatory room - but DH could not be convinced that it could be erected single handed....you would probably have to camp somewhere for 3+ weeks to justify putting it up

biscuitsmustbedunkedintea · 04/03/2009 23:12

Friends of ours purchased this one, the 8 man one they do have 3 strapping lads to help erect it

twinsetandpearls · 04/03/2009 23:14

We are buying one of those washersaurus.

I really like those-I want one! If only I could understand the fecking website!

Washersaurus · 05/03/2009 11:25

Twinset, I thought I'd seen somewhere you were looking at them . They really are nice tents, just too big for 4 of us - and we don't tend to camp for long periods.

We were almost tempted by the Vango Amazon 600 before our Montana purchase - I can't imagine how huge the 800 must be inside in comparison!

I think I saw one of those De Waard tents on a site last year, certainly different!

JustCallMeGoat · 05/03/2009 16:36

i love the dutch ones, i want a tent called grutto or Goudplevier.

strawberry - we call ours the big top too!

JustCallMeGoat · 05/03/2009 16:37

i love the words on the website tenten and instructies you feel that if you squint hard enough you might just understand it.

Pawslikepaddington · 05/03/2009 18:02

Please call "mein handie"-I love it all!!! God bless other languages!

twinsetandpearls · 05/03/2009 19:38

there is only the 3 of us and the dog! Although dd often brings a friend. We like the living space in the royal one

Washersaurus · 05/03/2009 20:29

ROFL, I'm sure that Royal tent is as big as the ground floor of my house. Are you really going to get the XL version with the conservatory/utility room then twinset?

twinsetandpearls · 05/03/2009 20:31

yes.

PandaG · 05/03/2009 20:35

don't blame you twinset. our tent nominally sleeps 16 (4 3 person pods and 4 in middle) and there are only 4 of us!

twinsetandpearls · 05/03/2009 20:43

OMG Panda! Do you have to pay extra to pitch it!
