Camping near Disney Paris

Ok so not really camping as looking to hire mobile home in October to go to Disney. Has anyone stayed at either Camping Les Etangs Fleuris or Le Croix du Vieux Pont? Would probably make a week of it so would like to be able to spend at least a couple of days just hanging around the site. The first one is much nearer to Disney but not sure if there would be much to do - anyone any advice?

Chessy is where disney is - the campsite should be marked with letters so you can see which are close "D" is close and they run a shuttle to the park each day and to the metro where you can catch the train into the city.

you will have to minus the map and move it east to find "d" and then a little further to find "cheesy" which is where the park is located

I'm going to les Etangs Fleuris in may with canvas using Tesco vouchers to take the DCs to Disney. Couldn't decide between the 2 sites you're looking at but Les etangs is meant to be much closer and friends who have stayed there recommended it! they said it was a really nice site and the people who ran it were lovely. other people have also recommended the other one too!!! I just went for shorted=s distance as I don't want to spend the whole time driving and les etangs is apparently only about 15 mins drive from Disney. can let you know after May half term what is was like!

Hi Leslaki! We were looking to use Tesco vouchers originally too but there was a minimum basic price of £300 so we would have had to add an extra night to get to that price etc etc !! If we go for just five nights then we will def go to les Etangs Fleuris as it is so near Disney as you say, but I quite fancy showing the DSes Paris plus having a bit of a chilling few days so then the other one seems a better choice. AAAhhh can't decide still. Can you ask your friend if there was anything to do on site especially if it was bad weather!

You seem to be an expert on both campsites and using tesco vouchers!! We are looking at Berny Riveriere with Tesco Vouchers - have you been there? How do you amass so many tesco vouchers? We do shop there and petrol and use Tesco Visa and have got eon electricity - any other hints - would hate to be missing out on places to get extra points!! I am aiming for full holiday courtesy of Tesco!!

I know what you mean Oldlady - we don't always shop at Tesco but go through patches of spending a lot there - have a grand total £140 towards a holiday after saving for two years!!!!

I spoke to a Canvas holiday woman the other day and she was telling me how they only have a certain allocation for using vouchers - the site we wanted for October half term has none left already.

I use as many extra point codes I can get my hands on!!! I also get my parents vouchers and book the holiday in my name and my mums to use her vouchers - I am on my own with DCs. Fatzak - I actually paid for the extra night to be able to use my vouchers and get it free!! I booked Sun- Fri but booked the ferry back on the Thu. canvas lady said loads of people do that to get price to the £300 out of season. Otherwise I wouldn'tbe able to afford it. My friends said that when they went to les etangs it was very easy to get into paris and disney and that they were out and about for most of the stay - did paris, Disney, parc Asterix and chateaux etc - they didn't really use the campsite much. Berny Riviere looks like it has more facilities - but TBH whenever we've stayed at a site with an indoor pool (booking for wet weather!!) it was so rammed with all the other campers it wasn't fun!! You can do disney in the rain - just wear waterproofs!! it means you can do all the wet rides when it's cold and you don't want to be wearing wet clothes all day! We did DLP in Dec - first time was cold and dry and frosty, second time it was torrential rain for 3 days but we still enjoyed it cos we had waterproofs on anyway and go to go on the wet rides which we didn't do the first time when we were wearing winter woolies!

We went to Duinrell in a mobile one October and it is COLD in a mobile so take duvets!!! It was a battle to stay in bed - first one up had to put on the fire in the morning! take slippers as floors get cold!
The friends who recommended les etangs have also stayed at Berny Riviere and they preferred les etangs. But other people will say the opposite i suppose so I've not really helped! I just prefer the smaller sites!

Thanks for that Leslaki. I think we were going more for Les Etangs as it is just so near Disney.

Know what you mean about the weather - we went to Duinrell last Easter and it was freezing! We had to ask for heaters and if they hadn't have any (they didn't on the first night) it would have been unbearable. We had hoped to go to Duinrell again this October, but as i said in my last post, the allocation for tesco voucher hols has been used already.

I'm now on a mission to try to get a cheap hol with the Daily express tokens but know that i will forget to buy a paper every day!

Don't rule out Duinrell for October - when we went I got a 5 night break in a 2 bedroomed mobile for 4 of us in Oct half term with Eurocamp for £115!!!! People on our ferry had paid £130 for the ferry alone! that was just booking on line about 6 weeks before we went! Bargain if I say so myself!! Checked again alst Sept for the Oct half term for a friend ofn mine and the prices were really cheap again with Eurocamp and keycamp! You might not need the Daily Express, but pack a heater!!!

Agree with Leslaki on waiting. Last year we went to Berny with Canvas, admittedly in Sept rather than Oct. Booked last week of July, got 10 nights in the Select Plus mobile home (nearly the best they have) all for the bargain price of £310 (includes ferry)
Also agree with re the heat, or lack of it. We learnt to get out of bed early and turn on the heater in the lounge, and stay in bed till it had heated up a bit. And take slippers! Canvas also have some lodges in Berny but my parents have stayed in them and didn't think they were much warmer.

The campsite itself is lovely. Massive pools, the child pool is huge with some nice small slides for them and only comes up to an adults knees so nice and shallow. Undercover too so weather doesn't spoil it. 3 diff playparks for them. Artificial beach, which is still good enough for sandcastles (but not hole digging as you can only get down 1.5m deep ) Berny also own their own coach which does trips to Disney and Paris during the week. I would use it for a day trip into Paris, but it's so easy to drive to Disney from the campsite yourself.

One of the couriers there last year had stayed at Les Etangs, and he said it was a lot quieter than Berny, so you couldn't compare the two.
