Recommendations for a good site en route to Vendee please!

We are off to the vendee again - last year we did the drive in one go however this year our holiday clashes with the 24 hour le mans so don't even want to venture across country whilst this is going on.

So, could I have any recommendations for good campsites preferably with good play areas etc suitable for a 4 year old!?

I'm happy to go anywhere within a 300 mile radius of Calais and that is then an easy to drive on to the Vendee.

Have had a look at Pierrefitte in the Loire and also Houlegate in Normandy and then Dol de Bretagne in Brittany.

We thought we'd stay for three nights and then head down to the Vendee.

Stay at Dol de Bretagne in Brittany, St Malo is lovely for a trip in and wander around the city. You can walk all the way round on the wall looking down on the insdie. Your 4 year old will love the carosel and there are a selection of wonderful fish restaurants. Then there is a sea life center and back in Dol there is a twice weekly marlet and lovely caes and shops.

Dol de Bretagne is 300 miles from Calais and an easy trip.

I think Dol de Bretagne is going to be the best one for us - just pricing up options atm.
