Camping with 8 mths old baby - advice needed

We are planning a camping weekend in May or June in Devon with our 8 mths old DS, but have no idea what we need to pack for him.

As a couple we have done lots of camping in the UK and Europe. When it comes to the equipment for us, we have everything you can possibly think of, but don't want to take too much or too little for DS. What items will we need? (apart from the travel cot)

Can you also suggest any smaller nice camp sites in Devon or Cornwall?

No idea about taking an 8mo camping other than avoid the summer holidays

Cornwall has some lovely sites - Trelowarren and Tregurrian and 2 that I remember being really good.

We went when DDs were 5 months and 17 months, and the best bit of advice I could give you is DO NOT GO IF IT IS RAINING!!!!!

Travel cot, sleep mat to go under travel cot, fleece all-in-one to sleep in, extra blankets, waterproof all-in-one.

We stayed here, lovely views, fab toilets found it in cool camping book

A samsonite pop up travel cot and a bit of blackout lining fabric to go over it. Tents do not stay dark when it gets light at silly o'clock!

We took our twins camping when they were about 8 months (in the summer hols too, both being teachers!) despite going with canvas holidays who provided cots and highchairs, we still took loads of stuff we didn't need! The one thing I would recommend is a nice big blanket for him to have a roll around on outside (or in, groundsheets not being v comfy!) also buggy or high chair to strap in for feeding/keeping in one place!

Have fun, it was one of the best holidays we've had
