I have just booked the dover/dunkirk ferry crossing for the beginning of the school holidays (18th July-1st August)as the deal was really cheap. But now I have to book a camp site. I have 3 dc's and dh, but the kids age range from 3 to 15, which could mean bored teens if I pick a really quiet site. So what I am looking for is:-

  1. Don't mind travelling appx 500 miles with over night stop if it means we get some sunshine.
  2. Swimming Pool
  3. possible kids clubs - though not essential.
  4. Things to do off the site.
Please let me know if you can recommend somewhere, TIA.

Too far?

The site was good, loads of nice beaches nearby. The scenery was beautiful. Biarrtz nice and St Jean de Luz lovely. You can even drive into the north of Spain.

Prosecco - thanks, looks lovely but i think it is a bit further than I want to go.

La Garangeoire in the Vendee is popular but it's possibly too late to book now. I know someone who went last summer with teenagers and they loved it - fishing, boat hire, tennis, swimming plus more all available on site... what sort of activities do yours like?

La Garangeoire is right on track, but worked out really expensive for the 5 of us. 57 euros a nights??!!. will just have to keep looking.
