We tend to start the first May Bank holiday but I do feel the cold so I'm sure there are plenty of people who go earlier in the year!

We're just planning for this year with ds1 who will be 3 1/2 and ds2 who will be 11 months!

first planned trip this year is April 3rd with 3 DC's. youngest is just 3.

Our earliest camping so far has been first bank hol of May, although we're trying a featherdown farm shed thing for Easter in early Apr so will give us an idea how cold it is.

we went last year at end of april, was incredibly cold, tent frosted at night, but with thick sleeping bags etc we were ok.
can't have been that bad the dc have been asking to go again since january.
am considering going in th eeaster hols, possibly for a weekend before then if we have more like today.
my dd is 2 and ds is 10

OMG you are all so hardy - I was even thinking the end of May would be too cold in this country

which dates are you booked for, looks lovely, need to do the maths then let you know, its 200 miles for us but looks lovely

Am thinking along these lines too. ds1 will be 4, ds2 will be 2, want to go during Easter but wonder if it will be too cold. Might just risk it.
