hi, am looking for new tent...have had 3 tents in last 3 years (montana 6 -loved but too big & heavy/vango yukon- not great quality but light/outwell nevada - dodgy design on doors and zips had a couple of leaks as well...so sent back! ) there are only 3 of us (Ds is 3.5) so have always gone for side by side as often all ended up together due ds getting cold/falling off airbed etc etc however dh thinks after this year ds ok to go in pod so prefers vis a vis...his current fave

as also comes with sunshade bit...

i am still anxious and think side by side better so prefer...

I would say that he would be fine on his own in the pod. My ds now 4 and dd 3 started camping when dd was 9mths and she was in pod on own. Now we have changed tent they share a pod together and have been fine.

Slight hijack but can I ask you about the Yukon? Which one did you have and can you fit a double and single airbed in it easily?

babycino · 01/02/2009 19:56

no problem..it was the yukon 400 and definately could fit a double and single possibly 2 doubles..leant it to friends who have 2 kids and they said they all fitted no problem...not sure what config of beds they used..

agree with reviews here would probably still use for festivals/weekends but not great quality groundsheet seemed thin and when used with footprint got leaks through it?/zips not great either. easy to pitch though ..but has put me off vangos...

thanks for that jhke..though ds will be on his own which is part of my concern...but am resigning myself to sleeping with him this year and worrying about next year then!

i was never happy with a vis-a-vis at festivals
Too much risk of drunken revellers wandering into or falling on top of our tent. Even if I went with DS, that still left DD alone if DH went off to hear evening bands, or vice-versa.

we have a Monty 4 and love it - perfect for the 4 of us, and we make 1 big bedroom.
