Kelly Kettle or Trangia?

Which would you recommend? I love the idea of a Kelly Kettle but it does say that you can only cook soups, rice or reheat stuff on it. I'm hardly planning to do gourmet meals but would like to be able to cook things like scrambled eggs & fairly simple things on it. Am also dubious as to how I would light a fire if it was wet & no dry grass/twigs around.

Any thoughts on Trangia? Are they fairly powerful (in terms of boiling water)?

if it's just me and dh i love trangia - v stroll down memory lane. not hugely fast though, and can need a top up. with dcs we always use gaz? are you very back-country?

to be honest I haven't been camping for yonks, and this w/e is first trip with DD (will just have the old stove for this trip), and I would rather camp in a field than in a big/busy site but at the same time we're not going to be going up a mountain, but I find the whole idea of going back to basics quite romantic... reality might prove me wrong though

I do apologise, but I scanned this and thought it was a baby naming thread. Was horrified.

ha ha, I did think that the second I posted it too - not the strangest baby names ever suggested though! If there are any celebs on here they might nick them..

Trangias are great. Get a trangia kettle to go with it, they boil surprisingly quickly.

oh yes, get a trangia kettle!!
(but def kelly for the baby name...)
