Anyone else love tents but hate camping???.....

It sounds daft, I know. I love looking at tent porn online, reading tent catalogues, visiting tent exhibitions. We have had a run of really bad luck with tents (had to send 3 back, all good brands). We now have a Bear Lake 6. I like the layout of it, the feel of it, the look of it...... yet I have absolutely no desire to sleep in it!!!!! (off to France for a week soonish). I think I get caught up in the geekishness of the tents (no offence meant, but surely you know what I mean!) but the actual camping lifestyle does not suit me - but DH and the DC love it, it's financially appealing, so I guess I'm stuck with it!
Please tell me I'm not the only one!!!!

DH loves the look of tents, but hates camping, he also buys lots of sporty hats and never wears them ... anyone want three unworn Tilley Hats.

Well, at least I'm not completely alone then!

My friends and DH joke about me looking at porn online....I'm alays on tent websites, bid on them on ebay and chatrooms like this....I love tents. Going in them around show fields.... admiring the space and when they are canvas...well...!!

Glad I'm not the only one...

I do however also like to sleep in them....Even though the weather and all the camping experiences we've had so far this year have been rubbish, I still enjoy the experience of sitting out with a fire pit and a bottle of wine!!

OK, so I'm not alone in taking a.... keen interest in tents. We camped with friends in June and they thought it very funny that when walking around the campsite DH and I could identify loads of the tents......
Ah, Emma - I too love to sit out with a bottle of wine etc etc, but I'd rather do it in my garden, knowing that then I can have a good night's sleep in a comfortable bed, having had a shower in a private bathroom and cleaned my teeth without hearing a stranger use the toilet 3ft away!
