can i use my kettle from home?

I have just bought ehu but didn't buy the low voltage kettle. If i take my home kettle will everything go bang? Have borrowed the low voltage kettle and it takes ages to boil water so would be better with a pan on the gas. What do you do?

We have used our kettle from home but we unplugged all the other appliances so that it didn't overload the electrics.
