i need to go camping.

i have never been. but i want to.
can someone tell me where to go? in the new forest perhaps?
and what equipment to buy?
and can i go for the first time ver, with two lo's on my own?
i have one kids sleeping bag, and one adult sleeping bag. and nothing else. but i do have lots of experience putting up tents for scouts, school etc.

unless i go friday afternoon, and come back saturday afternoon, i cannot now go anywherre camping till september. various commintments, family over etc.

but i neeeeed to go . in this beautiful weather.
and even in spetember i cannot go. no free weekend. can i go camping for the first time in october? or should i just take the plunge, and drive down to the new forest on friday moring?

My best advice for first time camping is go somewhere really near home, so that if all else fails, you can bundle DCs into the car and go home. Start simple, borrow kit if you can, and have fun! You'll love it!
