Can't wait off to france this sunday, i think i'm more excited than the kids.

Suppose i should be sorting out stuff instead of loitering on here but never mind....only four more sleeps

We have booked with keycamp, but all the big companies seem to go there as well, plus you can book direct with the site.No good with links but just google 'la palombiere' and it comes up.

We were going to book direct but they were fully booked.

We took our own tent to Saumur last year in the Loire and had a fab time, but this year fancied the luxury of a shower and loo without having to walk to a block, also because if (hopefully) its hot we have a fridgefreezer, so can keep plenty of lollies/ice cream etc for kids.

I'm so excited,

Lucycat, we stayed at a lovely site called Chantepie in Saumur, i thought it was wonderful, great sized pitches, good clean shower blocks etc and the most fabulous views over the river, would most definately go back,

also worked out a lot cheaper because we took our own tent etc and booked through Select sites,

only one more proper sleep to go....(sat night doesn't count as will be leaving about 3.30am)

Can't wait

ooh ooh that's where we are going! we are taking our own tent too. It's always good to hear from people who have been where you are heading to! Did your kids do any of the pony rides on site?

We have booked a pitch XXL so even our tent should fit on it!

I fancy the Dordodgne next year too - possibly Soleil Plage on the river at Vitrac near Sarlat.

sashmum - you didn't put a review on ukcamping did you? - under a different name?

lucycat, yes i did put a review on ukcampsite, the girls went on the pony rides and loved it.
Also at chantepanie there is a veg garden and a herb garden, which are fantastic.
The views are beautiful, esp if like me can't sleep the first few nights so got up early and went for a walk and just took it all in.
I thought the site had a wonderful relaxed feeling.
Make sure you visit the zoo, can't remember exactly where it is but sure i put it in my review.
We were amazed at the size of our pitch, in fact all the pitches seemed very large, we have a huge tent and also had loads of room for the gazebo and car and could still play bat and ball on our pitch, not bad!!You will not be disappointed.
Have a great time and i'll let you know all about the dordorgne when we get back.
Happy camping!!

Thanks for that, really helpful - I wondered whether you were the same person I'd 'talked' to on ukcamping!

Please do let us know all about the Dordogne, have a great time, hope the wine is cold and the weather hot!

safe travelling.
